Open Question: I want to be super intelligent and in peak physical shape and performance. Where to begin?
This is a hard question to explain but I will do my best, but bear with me; it is lengthy:
I want as much advice as possible on doing the above. I want to have the speed of an olympic athlete, the flexibility of a yoga instructor, the keen detective skills of Sherlock Holmes, a mastery of the english language and at least one other, incredible focus, and train myself in at least one form of martial art. Among many other things. I basically want to do it all.
I know perfection or omnipotence is impossible, and this would be a lot of commitment to take on, and to do it all at once would be ludicrous. I have taken it all into account. This is to be a constant work in progress for the rest of my life, but I would like to at least reach a physical and mental peak during my 20's. I plan on prioritizing and only doing small bits of some things and balancing/shifting my focus on others as need be. I am not looking for that kind of advice.
Some things I would like to know is how can I begin? What is the best way to prepare and organize myself for this endeavor? Here are a few specific goals I'd like to get started on now advice on how to or what it would entail is appreciated.
- I want to begin learning a language immediately. I hear however, that Rosetta Stone is terrible. What are good at-home ways to learn?
- I want to start my physical transformation, and I feel the first stop should probably be stretching and flexibility, since this can be done easily and will serve countless purposes directly and indirectly instantly and over time. Already, due to the recent transition from 250 to 180 pounds by me over the last year, I have suddenly become able to touch my forehead to my knees (Bruce Lee I've heard people describe it as) as opposed to barely palming the floor as before, a feat I expected would take months of training. The kicker is I don't really stretch. So this give me lots of momentum and hope to make myself contortionist flexible to maximize my fighting, dance, and general movement abilities. Resources? Tips? Warnings?
- Would fighting gloves and headgear be a good investment for me and some responsible friends to practice general boxing techniques? We have considered injury possibilities and plan on doing it as safely and with as much common sense as possible. Tips on using this technique? We plan to move up to martial arts classes eventually. Will this give us an edge, or maybe not as much as I think, which isn't much?
- I tent to lose focus. This MUST change. I don't even know where to start on this subject, and I could use all the help I can get here.
I suppose that is more than what I should expect anyone to read through and answer, so I'll go ahead and wrap this up. I appreciate anybody's time, effort, and contributions to a question of which I am hoping for much consideration.

Open Question: Best way to gain muscles in my arms with little to no access to a gym or equipment?
I'm 14, pretty skinny 110 pounds 5' 10" and my arms are like 8" around, what's the best way to gain muscle in my arms if the only equipment I have is 2 5lbs dumbells, 2 2lbs dumbells, a 5 lb medicine ball, a yoga ball thing, and some stretchy elastic band things for exercise. I can fit a 5 &2 lb weight in 1 hand but kinda uncomfortable afterawhile. So anyway what are the best ways to build arm muscles and I'd also like to work on my abs. I can feel my abs when I flex them but it isn't alot. Oh and I am able to do like 2-3 pullups underhand, haven't tried over hand yet.
I meant I have 2 of a 5 lb and a 2 lb weight and I'm a boy

Open Question: When do you workout/exercise!? What do you do?!?
I'm 15 and I'm having trouble fitting exercise in my everyday life. I really want to be healthy, and get less chubby.. I'm eating a lot healthier and I'm not binge eating.. but I'm having trouble with exercise.
The only exercise I get is from walking to the bus stop, walking to classes and walking my dog.
Here's my everyday schedule:
6:20: Wake up, get dressed, hair and makeup, pack lunch, eat breakfast.
7:45: Leave for school
8:45-2:55: At school
3:30: Home from school
3:40: Walk dog
4:00 Homework until dinner time
After dinner I just relax, watch t.v, I am really tired and do not feel like doing anything.
I was thinking maybe I should start waking up really early and go rollerblading for 30 minutes.
Then after dinner I could do a pilates or yoga video from youtube.
Or maybe I should get back into running again.. but the weather's getting colder so maybe I shouldn't... but I have a treadmill..that I can use in 2 months.
I have no idea what to do !?!
When do you exercise?! What do you do?! And how long do you workout?!
PLEASE HELP ME :)

Open Question: Please tell me (again) that light cramps are normal at 5 weeks 1 day?
I guess I'm going to have to ask this every day... I love my baby so much it hurts (the love, not the cramps!)... I want so badly to be 100% reassured and chilled out, but I can't... I guess if I have to ask this every night to reassure myself, I will! LOL!
I've already reduced my stress by 75%, when I feel the cramping I close my eyes, breathe in and out through my nose (thank you vinyasa yoga!) and focus on something else (like song lyrics). I eat incredibly healthy, and as soon as I feel a little bit more secure in the pregnancy, I'm going to start prenatal yoga. I know I'm being a worry wart, but I'm a first time mom, so this is all very strange to me.
And honestly the cramps are more like twinges

Open Question: Why can't I lose the fat in my stomach?
I've been a vegetarian for over 10 years and recently became a vegan. I've had a weight problem since I was 11 (120 at the highest) but I've managed to mostly keep it under control. I hate the way I look now -my legs and arms are skinny but then I just have this huge fat stomach. I exercise 6 days a week: cardio, running, pilates, yoga etc. and I don't eat sugar or bread like at all, my diet is mostly tofu, nuts, fruits, and vegetables. I take vitamins and I'm very healthy otherwise. I love being a vegan and plan on keeping my diet but I really want my stomach to be smaller. It's hard enough cuz I'm so short (5'1) and that makes me look chubby already.
I want to get this skinny eventually:

Open Question: Do you think i'm overweight? (pix)?
I'm 5'5", and 145 pounds, a DD
I eat completely healthy- no junk food EVER, I make my own organic food. I have a vertigo disorder which limits difficult physical activity, but I always make sure I speedwalk at least, for about 45 min. a day, and do yoga, plus at work i'm constantly standing.
Honest opinions please.

Open Question: How do I keep my son from taking whey and creatine?
My son has been taking the commercially available steroids "whey" and "creatine" ever since he got into this bodybuilding nonsense. I've been an advocate of holistic medicine and the power of yoga for years and believe that's all you need to build strength and good health.
My son just won't listen though. He's trying out this thing called "starting lifts" which seems extremely dangerous, he's using a barbell with all of these heavy weights for these exercises that look like they could destroy your knees and back. The "deadlift" I believe they call it.
Any advice on how to get my son out of this body building nonsense before he gets cancer from steroids and destroys his joints from lifting those heavy weights? Do I need to send him to rehab for the steroids? What kind of recovery would work best for him?
